Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to the use of ikeibebugwu.com (the “website”), including browsing the website, booking a meeting, downloading free resources, and buying digital resources. Using the website or making a purchase means agreeing to these Terms. Anyone who does not agree should not use the website.

These Terms should be read together with the website’s Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is handled.

About the business

The website is operated by an independent hiring and career consultancy based in West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, referred to in these Terms as “the business”. Questions and requests can be sent through the contact form on the website.

If the business registers under a new name or incorporates, these Terms will be updated, and the new entity may take over the rights and obligations in them.

Who can use the website

The website may be browsed at any age, but it is not directed to anyone under 16. To buy resources or create an account, a person must be at least the age of majority where they live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.
Anyone using the website or buying resources on behalf of an organization confirms that they have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

Acceptable use

The website must be used lawfully and respectfully. Users must not:

  • use the website in a way that breaks any law or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to the website, other accounts, or the systems behind them;
  • upload or send viruses or other harmful code, or interfere with how the website works;
  • copy, scrape, or collect content or information from the website using automated tools;
  • use the website or its contact form to send spam or to impersonate another person.

General information, not professional advice

The content on the website, including articles, guides, templates, toolkits, and free resources, is general information about hiring and career development. It is not legal, employment law, human rights, immigration, tax, or financial advice, and it is not tailored to any individual situation.
Hiring and employment laws vary by province, state, and country. Anyone using these resources in a hiring process is responsible for making sure that process complies with the laws that apply to them, including human rights, employment standards, accessibility, and privacy laws. Advice from a qualified professional should be sought where needed.

No guarantee of results

The resources share practical approaches, but no specific outcome can be guaranteed. In particular:

  • career resources do not guarantee an interview, a job offer, a promotion, or a particular salary;
  • hiring resources do not guarantee better hires, faster hiring, or a process free of bias;
  • testimonials on the website reflect individual experiences, and results may differ.

Meetings and consulting services

A free introductory meeting can be booked through the website. The meeting is an exploratory conversation. It does not create a consulting relationship, and anything discussed is general in nature.

Requests to reschedule or cancel a meeting can be sent through the contact form on the website, as early as possible.
Consulting, speaking, and workshop services are provided only under a separate written agreement. If that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the written agreement applies.

Buying resources

  • Descriptions. Each resource page describes what the resource includes and its file format. Descriptions are kept as accurate as possible. Questions before buying can be sent through the contact form on the website.
  • Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout before payment.
  • Payment. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Paying confirms that the buyer is authorized to use the payment method provided.
  • Reviewing an order. Before completing checkout, buyers can review their order, correct any errors, and choose to accept or cancel it.
  • Order confirmation. When a payment is accepted, the buyer receives an order confirmation by email. That email, together with these Terms, forms the agreement and serves as the buyer’s copy of it.
  • Pricing errors. If a resource is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of an error, the business may cancel the order and issue a full refund.
  • Right to refuse. The business may refuse or cancel an order where fraud or misuse is reasonably suspected. Any cancelled order receives a full refund.

Delivery and downloads

Digital resources are delivered electronically. After payment, a download link is sent by email. Buyers with an account can also find their purchases in their account and download them again later.

Buyers should save a copy of their files once downloaded. If a resource is retired or the website closes, reasonable efforts will be made to give account holders notice and a chance to download their purchases first.

If a download link does not arrive, or a file will not open, please use the contact form on the website for help.

Refunds

Because digital resources can be accessed immediately and cannot be returned, all sales are final, except in the following situations. A full refund is available if:

  • the buyer was charged but did not receive access to the resource, and the problem cannot be resolved;
  • the file is faulty or will not open, and it cannot be fixed or replaced within a reasonable time;
  • the resource is materially different from how it was described;
  • the buyer was charged more than once for the same order by mistake.

Refund requests can be made through the contact form on the website within 30 days of purchase, including the order number and a short description of the issue. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. This policy does not limit any rights buyers have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Licence to use resources

All resources remain the intellectual property of the business. Buying or downloading a resource grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it as described below.

Permitted use

  • using career resources for personal career development;
  • using hiring resources within the buyer’s own organization, including adapting templates, scorecards, and questions for that organization’s internal hiring;
  • printing copies for personal use or for use within the buyer’s organization.

Not permitted

  • reselling, sublicensing, renting, or giving away a resource, in its original or an edited form;
  • posting a resource publicly, sharing it in online groups, or uploading it to file-sharing websites;
  • sharing a resource with people outside the buyer’s organization, including a consultant’s or recruiter’s clients, without written permission;
  • using a resource to create a competing product, course, or template collection;
  • using a resource to train artificial intelligence models, or uploading it to AI tools for that purpose;
  • removing copyright notices or credits.

Requests for wider use, for example across several client organizations or in a training program, can be made through the contact form on the website. Breaking these licence terms ends the licence automatically.

Free resources

Free resources are covered by the same licence terms as paid resources. Links to the page where a free resource is offered may be shared, but the file itself should not be.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional. Account holders are responsible for keeping their password secure and for activity under their account, and should report any unauthorized use right away through the contact form on the website. Account holders can ask for their account to be closed at any time. Accounts used to break these Terms may be suspended or closed.

Intellectual property

Everything on the website, including text, graphics, templates, resources, and the website’s design and layout, belongs to the business or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other laws. Apart from the licence in Section 10, nothing in these Terms grants any rights to that content.

Links to pages on the website may be shared freely, and short excerpts may be quoted with credit and a link back to the original page.

Testimonials and feedback

Testimonials on the website are shared with the permission of the people who gave them. Feedback or suggestions about the website or its resources may be used to improve them without any obligation to the person who provided them. No one’s name or words will be published as a testimonial without their permission.

Links and third-party services

The website links to other websites and relies on third-party services, such as Stripe for payments. The business does not control those websites or services and is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Disclaimer

Reasonable efforts are made to keep the website accurate, secure, and available, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the business does not promise that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors or harmful components, or that its content will always be complete or up to date. Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee or right that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the business is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from the use of the website or its resources, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or hiring or employment decisions made by a user or their organization.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of the business for any claim related to the website or a resource is limited to the amount paid for the resource the claim relates to, or 100 Canadian dollars if the claim does not relate to a purchase.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow liability to be limited, such as for loss caused by fraud or wilful misconduct.

Responsibility for misuse

Anyone who uses the website or its resources in breach of these Terms or the law agrees to be responsible for the reasonable costs and losses that result from any claim brought against the business because of that misuse, to the extent permitted by law.

Changes to the website and these Terms

The website and its resources may be updated, changed, or removed at any time. These Terms may also be updated. When that happens, the new version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Changes apply from the date they are posted and do not affect purchases made before that date.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts and tribunals of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer protection laws where a user lives give them the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Concerns should first be raised through the contact form on the website. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.

General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order confirmation, are the entire agreement about the use of the website and its resources. A separate written consulting agreement governs any consulting services.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of these Terms remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Not enforcing a part of these Terms right away does not give up the right to enforce it later.
  • Transfer. Users may not transfer their rights under these Terms. The business may transfer its rights to a registered business or corporation it forms, or to anyone who takes over the website, provided users’ rights under these Terms are not reduced.

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the contact form on the website.
